Del Lonzo Memorial Scholarship

GraduatesEstablished in honor of Del Lonzo, a Michigan City high school teacher and long term member of the First Trust Board of Directors, two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually.

The scholarship is available to First Trust members, or the child of a member, who will graduate from an accredited high school in 2012. Award recipients exemplify the values represented by Mr. Lonzo; scholastic excellence, personal integrity and active participation in service to the school and the community.

Applications can be obtained by visiting any First Trust Credit Union office, or your high school guidance office. Or, call 800-276-6161 and First Trust employees would be happy to mail an application to your home. Application deadline is Friday March 16, 2012.

Virginia Stevens $1,000 Memorial Scholarship

Virginia StevensIn fond remembrance of Virginia Stevens a founding member of First Trust Credit Union, a $1,000 memorial scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior, who will be pursuing an education at a technical or trade school or certification in a non-four year program.

The award will be made to a member or child of a member of First Trust Credit Union and will be based on their enrollment in an accredited institution for post high school education or training, the student's scholastic achievement, an essay from the applicant, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
