First Trust Credit Union was originally chartered in 1959 as La Porte County School Employees Federal Credit Union. We then grew to include school staff members, health care providers, and other employee groups in seven Indiana counties. In 2009 we became a state chartered community credit union. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
